Participation Instructions in RateGain Preliminary Round
Accessing the Assessment Portal
To participate in the preliminary round, registered teams must log in to the online assessment portal provided on the competition page during the specified time period.
Assessment Structure
The assessment in the preliminary round will consist of two components:
Multiple Choice Questions
Teams will encounter 10 multiple choice questions designed to test fundamental programming concepts such as data structures and algorithms. These questions are integral in evaluating the participants’ knowledge and skills.
Coding Question
In addition to the multiple choice questions, there will be 1 coding question that requires participants to write code to solve a given problem. Teams can choose to code their solutions in any commonly used programming language, including C/C++, Java, Python, and more.
Team Participation
It is of utmost importance that all registered team members log in and attempt the assessment together within the stipulated time. Individual scores will be averaged to calculate the team’s overall score.
Scoring and Evaluation
Objective type questions will be presented, and partial or full marks will be awarded based on the correctness of answers. Importantly, there will be no negative marking for incorrect responses.

Following the conclusion of the preliminary assessment at 6:00 PM IST, the results will be declared promptly.
Shortlisting
Top scoring teams in the preliminary round will be shortlisted to advance to the next stage of the competition.

RateGain Preliminary Round
Round 1 (Preliminary Quiz)
This round entails 10 MCQ questions and 1 coding question to be completed within 45 minutes online. Only the cream of the crop will advance to the next stage.
Round 2 (Detailed Submission)
Shortlisted teams are entrusted with solving a problem statement. They must submit a 5-8 slide PowerPoint presentation and a 2-minute video pitch to explain their solution. The most innovative submissions will secure a place in the grand finale.
Round 3 (Grand Finale)
The grand finale invites the top teams to present their solutions in person at RateGain’s Noida office before a panel of judges. The winners will be unveiled at this momentous event.
Prizes
Cash prizes amounting to ₹1,50,000, ₹75,000, and ₹50,000 await the top three winning teams, in addition to special rewards and participation certificates.
